Model R: Three-way thermostatic valve

The AMOT Model R thermostatic valve controls fluid temperatures in cooling systems, heat recovery loops and many other temperature control applications. It is also suitable for process control and industrial applications where liquids must be mixed or distributed depending on the liquid temperature.

Features and benefits

  • The element is easy to remove while the valve is mounted
  • "Tamper-proof" temperature setting
  • Minimal leakage to surroundings
  • Ideal for ammonia-based cooling systems

Applications

  • Refrigeration compressors
  • Industrial compressors
  • Turbines
  • Engines
  • Gearboxes
  • High pressure application

Temperature range: 35-82°C  (95-180°F)

Available materials: Cast steel BS 3146 CLS 1A-ASTM A216

Connections: Weldable flanges

Operation:

The valve is supplied with the temperature element factory-set to the nominal temperature setting. The temperature is recorded at port A, which remains open to port B (bypass) until the fluid temperature reaches a point 4-6°C (8-10°F) below the nominal setting. As the temperature continues to rise, the slide valve moves to close port B and open port C (connected to the cooler or heat exchanger). Port B is fully closed 4-6°C (8-10°F) above the nominal setting.
