Model BO: Three-way thermostatic valve

AMOT Model B thermostatic valves are fully automatic, three-way valves that are controlled by the temperature in the passing fluid flow. The valve type ensures highly reliable temperature control of, for example, coolant or lubricating oil, and is suitable for process control and industrial applications where liquids must be mixed or divided depending on temperature. The valve type can also be used to control the temperature in heat recovery loops to ensure correct engine temperature and to maximize heat recovery.

  • No external power source is required - simple and affordable installation
  • No settings or configuration needed - "fit and forget"
  • Consists of few parts - simple and affordable maintenance
  • Robust design that withstands a lot of shock and vibration
  • Flexible installation – works in any mounting position
  • Automatic self-sensing control with positive proportional valve actuation

3BOCB1000100AA: 3'' valve without manual override (BO), cast iron (C), flange PN10 (B) and 100°F element (100), standard element without override with buna N/Nitrile seal (01), leak hole size (0), leak hole number (0, no customer adaptations (AA)).

33BOCB1000100AA: same as above, but with three elements

4BOCB1000100AA: same as above, but 4'' valve

4BOCB0950100AA: same as above but with 95°F element

Operation:

The valve is supplied with the temperature elements factory set to the nominal temperature setting. The temperature is sensed at Port A which remains open to Port B (bypass) until the liquid temperature reaches a point 5-10°C below the nominal setting. As the temperature continues to rise, the slide valve moves to close Port B and open Port C (connected to the cooler or heat exchanger). Port B is fully closed 4 - 6°C (8 - 10°F) above the nominal setting. The valve continuously regulates the liquid flow to maintain the nominal temperature. For optimal control, the system must be dimensioned so that approximately half of the total liquid flow passes through the cooler at full load.
